For two weeks students have been using math, architecture principles and design thinking to design and build a cardboard boat that can be paddled by two students across the pool and back. Students will test their boats tomorrow at the Vernon College pool. Come on out and cheer them on!

Our Lions will wrap up the regular season Friday night when they travel to Bowie to take on the Jackrabbits. The varsity game is the third game on the right hand side of the page.

One last change for FCA tonight!!

KeyMaria McBride, a member of the VHS Yearbook Staff, delivers three yearbooks to Ms. Samano. Ms. Samano lost her yearbooks in a house fire when she was younger, and was happy when she was able to purchase replacements and recall all the great memories she had from high school. The VHS Yearbook Staff have a lot of old yearbooks, so if you're missing one from your time at VHS, contact them at vhsyearbook@vernonisd.org to see if they have the one you're searching for.

Scenes from this morning's pep rally pumping up the spirit for our Lions' district showdown with the Jim Ned Indians tonight at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium.

We understand fans who use a Waggoner National Bank debit card are having issues purchasing a ticket for tonight's game. Fans who could not purchase a ticket due to using a Waggoner National Bank debit card will be allowed to enter the gate without a ticket. Vernon ISD is operating this under the Honor System, where we are trusting those fans to purchase their ticket once the debit card issue is resolved. The link to purchase tickets for tonight's game will remain open until 9 p.m. Monday. We hope everyone enjoys the game. GO LIONS!!!

FCA location change!!

Here is Vernon ISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward's latest message to the community.
"I have never had a strong opinion either way of Governor Abbott or members of his office; however, what is currently being proposed in Austin has me thinking differently. There would be a myriad of reasons for Gov. Abbot to call a special session to support public education in Texas, but Gov. Abbott has called a special session to, in my opinion, do great harm to Texas public schools...." To read the full article, please follow this link www.vernonisd.org and scroll down.
