A few weeks ago a McCord Elementary kindergarten student, Paisley De La Cruz was involved in a terrible accident involving a golf cart. She suffered severe injuries and remains in the hospital while she recovers. Our VHS athletes wanted to help and came up with a way to raise money for the family with a "Lift-A-Thon Fundraiser." Athletes are out asking for sponsors to make donations per pound for the combined amount they will lift. The "Lift-A-Thon Fundraiser" will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the VHS weightroom and the public is invited to attend. The athletes will perform the three core lifts -- Bench, Squat & Deadlift. So, if you pledge .05 cents per pound and the athlete lifts a total of 600 pounds, your total donation would be $30. You can also just don't a set amount if wish.

They've had an amazing year!! Make plans to come out and enjoy the concert.

Parents,
Thursday (tomorrow), seniors will be traveling to Clinton, Ok for their Senior Trip (if they turned in their permission slip!). If you get a phone call/text telling you your student is absent and you know they are on the trip, please be aware that both of the attendance personnel in our office are also gone! There will be no way to code those students in Skyward and they will more than likely be marked absent in their classes. This will be corrected on Friday. If you have any questions, please call the high school office with questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this really busy time of year!

In an all-Vernon Mixed Doubles championship match at the 3A Region 1 UIL Singles & Doubles Tournament it was the duo of Courtney Saylor & Will Castleberry that walked off with a silver medal. They fell to their Vernon teammates in a hard-fought, three-set final. The top three finishers in each bracket advance to the state tournament, so Will and Courtney will be playing for a state title next week.
