In August, Vernon ISD started using a new parent-teacher communication app called Rooms. Many of our parents are already signed up and using Rooms with the teachers of their children. If you have not signed up, or would like a refresher, please visit the site linked below with all the information parents need to use Rooms!
Here is the site with more information: https://sites.google.com/visdtx.org/visd-rooms-info-for-parents/parent-rooms
If you are a parent of a Vernon ISD student and have further questions about Rooms, please email Chantilly Sweet at chantilly.sweet@visdtx.org.

Every Friday is now "Snack Friday" at VES!!

Approximately every quarter, VISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward writes an article to let the community know how our district is performing. Here is his latest article, written while he was on a trip.
For anyone who works in a public school, the Christmas Break is always a welcome time of the year. It is a time when we get to refresh our batteries. For some, it is a time to completely remove themselves from the job, but as a superintendent, I can never fully disengage. Whenever I have tried it, I always develop a sense of low-key anxiety thinking about the lost opportunity to get a little ahead of the job. For that reason, I did not feel crazy at all for turning a trip to Quito, Ecuador over the break to sharpen my Spanish skill set, into a work session..... to continue reading Dr. Ward's article, please go to www.vernonisd.org
